As a great supporter of British sport and home grown talent, Bob was thrilled by the spectacle and success of the 2012 Olympics, saying, “Like most of the nation I was gripped by Olympics and Paralympics and wowed by the sporting triumph of the men and women of Team GB as well as the Olympic organisers led by Lord Coe.”

The Olympics are not just about winning medals though and Bob was keen to praise the behaviour and conduct of those that represented Great Britain during the Games: “The exemplary sporting behaviour, professional attitude and impeccable image of the sports men and women at the Olympics was a lesson to all sports about how role-models should and can conduct themselves.  Football should take note as it still has a lot to learn in this respect.

“I only had the pleasure to visit the Olympic stadium once during the games but thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience – although I did manage to choose one of the only days Team GB didn’t win any medals!
